Sword of Many Colors

Today during math we were working with unifix cubes and my mentor teacher gave each student five minutes of free playtime with the cubes at the end of the period.  One student proudly presented the sword he built.

“Did you know if you build a sword using your favorite colors, it will be the most powerful sword you can build?”

I loved this idea.  I have always referred to orange and pink, my longtime favorite colors, as my “power colors.”  If I am ever given a choice of colors, these are the ones I will choose.  I’ve used them in decorating.  They represent flavors of candy I enjoy.  When wearing these colors, I feel confident.  They are my power colors.

Needless to say, I loved the idea that your favorite colors could amp up your strength and knowing one of my students shared a theory similar to my own.
